Wexford Saturday preview

Wexford stage the opening day of their now well-established October Bank Holiday fixture, and winner-finding could prove to be difficult.

Siegemaster is one of the higher profile names on show during the afternoon, Dessie Hughes’ very useful gelding embarking on a new campaign in the 2m6f Casey Enterprise Chase. The son of Lord Americo probably isn’t one to be taking too short a price about, but with many of his main rivals having some sort of question mark over them he may be up to making a winning start.

Give It Time has been a very consistent and admirable performer in big mares races over the past couple of years and is a notable recruit to the larger obstacles. A recent second to old rival Voler La Vedette at Punchestown should have left her spot on for her debut over fences in the 2m1f beginners event.

Elyaadi, Alpine Glade and promising maiden Annie May are all worth considering in what looks a very competitive Wexford Racecourse Supporters Club Mares Hurdle.
