Punchestown Tuesday preview

October 27th, 2009 by Gary O Brien RSS Feed for Gary O Brien

Having been waterlogged less than a week ago, the rain has happily relented in time for Punchestown to stage a potentially very informative two-day fixture.

The first session features the chasing debut of the exciting Pandorama, who has had such a huge reputation from his pointing days and was last seen landing the Grade 1 Deloitte Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown -admittedly in fortuitous circumstances. The likes of Clan Tara and Oligarch Society should at least ensure Noel Meade’s charge doesn’t have things all his own way.

Beau Michael didn’t run one of his better races on the flat last time, but Ado McGuinness’ useful performer is well-treated by the conditions of the Go Racing In Kildare Hurdle. Psycho is worth keeping a close eye on for his first outing of the new campaign.

Hugo De Vindecy marked himself down as a fine jumping prospect with a couple of good runs in bumpers and a clear round should make him hard to beat in the 2m4f maiden hurdle, while The Hurl could be the solution to the opening 2m event following a very promising return to action here a fortnight ago.
